UKZN Online Application 2024/2025

How to apply online for 2024/2025

  • Visit and select “Apply.”
  • Review the information and click “Continue with Application.”
  • Enter your ID number and click “Submit.”
  • Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Continue with Application.’
  • Fill in all required information, then click “Next.”
  • Click ‘Continue with Online Application.’
  • A pop-up window will display your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number. Read the instructions.
  • Click ‘Continue with Online Application’ again.
  • Follow the instructions, complete all requested information, and click ‘Next.’
  • Provide ‘Next of Kin’ details and click ‘Next.’
  • Insert the school name, click ‘Search,’ and enter the relevant attendance years.
  • Click ‘Next.’
  • When prompted with “Process My Application,” click the button. Your application is now submitted.
  • Receive a notification confirming the successful submission on your screen.
  • Proceed to upload supporting documents and make the application payment online using the EasyPay system.


Please ensure the submission of the following supporting documents before completing your online application at UKZN for the 2024 academic year:

  • A certified copy of your ID/Passport.
  • A valid study visa for studying in South Africa if you are an international applicant.
  • Ensure possession of the USAF/SAQA documents for upload.
  • A certified copy of your National Senior/Matric Certificate or O/A Levels, or any relevant school leaving qualification/certificate.
  • For international applicants, provide proof from Universities South Africa (previously known as HESA) confirming eligibility for admission to degree studies at South African universities.
  • Certified copies of your degree certificate(s), academic record, and certificate of conduct if you have attended other universities.
  • Proof of English proficiency for international applicants from non-English speaking countries.
  • South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluations if the previous qualification(s) were obtained at foreign universities (outside South Africa).

A research proposal or proposed title of the dissertation/thesis if applying for a Master’s Degree or Ph.D.
