Ukzn College of Agriculture, Engineering, and Science Bursaries 2023. The University of KwaZulu-Natal College of Agriculture, Engineering, and Science (CAES) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for its Bursary Programme for the 2023 academic year.

Agricultural or Agriculture Management (MSc)

  • Number of Bursaries: 2
  • Value of Each Bursary: R45,845

Horticulture (MSc or PhD)

  • Donor: John Travers
  • Number of Bursaries: 2 (1 for MSc, 1 for PhD)
  • Value of Each Bursary: R34,422

Engineering (excluding Mechanical Engineering) (MScEng)

  • Donor: TB Davis
  • Number of Bursaries: 1
  • Value of the Bursary: R20,287

Mechanical Engineering (MScEng or PhD)

  • Donor: Reino Stegan
  • Number of Bursaries: 4 (MScEng), 4 (PhD)
  • Value of Each Bursary: MScEng – R50,000, PhD – R55,000

UKZN Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria to be considered for the bursary:

Agriculture or Agricultural Management

  • South African citizenship
  • Current registration at the University of KwaZulu-Natal
  • Registration for MSc in Agriculture or MSc in Agricultural Management
  • Credit weight average in Honours of at least 75%

Horticulture

  • Current registration for MSc or PhD in Horticulture
  • Credit weighted average of at least 75% in the previous degree

Engineering (Excluding Mechanical Engineering)

  • Engineering graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal
  • Current registration for MScEng qualification (excluding MScEng Mechanical Engineering)
  • Credit weighted average of at least 75% in BScEng degree

Mechanical Engineering

  • Registration for MScEng or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  • Credit weight average of at least 75% in the previous degree
  • Preference given to graduates of the University of KwaZulu-Natal
